In a recent statement, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said, "BJP is defending Ashish Mishra in Lakhimpur Kheri violence incident.'' Talking to a well-known website, he said, "It cannot be called an incident, nothing can happen without permission from above.'' At the same time, he further said, "They trampled innocent Sikh farmers under the car. It was not an impulsive response, it was done with full preparation."

Let me tell all of you that Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President Mayawati criticised the concerned governments for the recent violent incidents in Rajasthan, Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. In fact, in a series of tweets today, Mayawati has questioned the alleged "silence" of the ruling Congress government in the Rajasthan's Hanumangarh Dalit lynching case. In her tweet, she said, "The lynching of Dalits in Hanumangarh in Rajasthan is very sad and condemnable, but why is the Congress high command silent? Will the Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh and Punjab go there and provide Rs.50 lakhs with each to the victim's family? BSP wants answers. Otherwise, stop shedding crocodile tears in the name of Dalits."

In another tweet, she referred to the Lakhimpur Kheri incident in Uttar Pradesh and said, "The name of the son of Union Minister (Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra) in Lakhimpur Kheri heinous case makes headlines raising many questions about the functioning of the BJP government. In such a situation, only if the BJP resigns from its minister on its own, the aggrieved farmers may anticipate some justice."
