Lucknow: The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Uttar Pradesh government on the bail plea of Ashish Mishra alias Monu, an accused in the Lakhimpur violence case. The court has asked the state government to file a reply in the matter by September 26. The matter will be heard next on September 26. Earlier, Ashish Mishra Monu's lawyer Mukul Rohatgi told the court that the spot was a narrow spot. The crowd was very high. The atmosphere was tense. There was a commotion. The driver of the vehicle and two other riders were dragged out by the people and beaten to death.

He claimed that claimants to be eyewitnesses make different claims about the incident. According to some, the speeding car hit the protesters and some people were crushed. At the same time, some people say that people stopped the car and killed the driver and another. Mukul Rohatgi said that it is written in the FIR that Ashish Mishra is an accused. He was sitting in the car. When the ruckus became fierce, the pistol from the car itself was waved in the air and fired. He then hid in the sugarcane fields. While later a witness admitted that he was not even an eyewitness.

He said that the bullet fired by the weapon was also not found on the spot. No one was injured by the bullet. These are not allegations that Ashish was driving the car. The High Court has also not yet examined all these related issues. The matter will now come up for further hearing on September 26.
