New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Varun Gandhi on Thursday demanded accountability for the blood of innocent farmers. Varun Gandhi also shared a video on Twitter explaining what happened in Lakhimpur Kheri earlier this week. Varun wrote from the medium of the tweet that the video is crystal clear. Protestors cannot be silenced through murder. There has to be accountability for the innocent blood of farmers that has been spilled and justice must be delivered before a message of arrogance and cruelty enters the minds of every farmer.

Earlier on Sunday, ruling BJP MP Varun Gandhi strongly criticised the incident in Lakhimpur Kheri. Eight people, including four farmers, were killed in the Lakhimpur violence. Varun Gandhi had also shared a video related to the incident on Twitter on Tuesday and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. Varun Gandhi wrote that the video of a car being mounted on farmers in Lakhimpur would shock anyone's soul.

He had demanded that the police should pay attention to the video and identify the car owners, the occupants of the car and arrest them immediately. He had written to UP CM Yogi Adityanath demanding a CBI probe and compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of the deceased farmers.
