Emerging Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen failed to make it to the main draw on Tuesday, while the men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty were eliminated with a first-round defeat at the Malaysia Masters. The target suffered a 21–11, 18–21, 14–21 defeat in the 49-minute men's singles matches against Denmark's Haines Christian Solberg Wittingus. Shubhankar Dey also failed to make it to the main draw while the women's doubles pair of Pooja Dandu and Sanjana Santosh also lost in the qualifier. India's biggest disappointment came when the world number 12 pair of Satwik and Chirag lost in the first round of men's doubles against world number 19 of Malaysia, Ong Yu Sin, and Tiyo Yi.

The Indian pair lost 15-21, 21-18, 15-21 against the local pair in the first round match which lasted 52 minutes. Shubhankar suffered a 15-21,15-21 defeat against Daren Liew of Malaysia in the men's singles while Pooja and Sanjana lost 15-21, 10-21 against the Indonesian pair of Siti Fadia Silva Ramdhanti and Rebika Sugiarto.
