Earlier, the CBI had filed an affidavit against Lalu Prasad's bail application in the court of Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh. Laloo Prasad Yadav's reply on this affidavit is to be filed. The CBI opposed the bailing of Laloo, saying the Supreme Court had already rejected his plea. Laloo is serving a three-and-a-half year jail term in the Deoghar treasury case. In this case, Laloo has served half of his sentence in jail. On the basis of this, the High Court has sought bail.Nalin Verma, who was the RJD's Lok Sabha candidate, had met Lalu Prasad Yadav, writing a biography of Faisal Ali and Lalu.
