RANCHI: Lalu Yadav, the president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and former Chief Minister of Bihar, has filed an application with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Ranchi to get his passport renewed since he has to travel abroad for a kidney transplant.

"Lalu Yadav will get a kidney transplant abroad, most likely in Singapore. An appointment with the doctor over there is in the works. Meanwhile, the application to renew the passport has been filed in court. The court will be notified that the passport has been renewed "Yadav's lawyer, Prabhat Kumar, reportedly said.

"When a date for an appointment is set, a new plea will be entered in each of the five cases in which he has been convicted, requesting permission to travel abroad. On May 31, the application was submitted. The date for the next hearing has been set on June 10 "he said.

Meanwhile, Yadav is scheduled to appear in person before a special MP MLA court in Palamu in connection with a 2009 violation of the model code of conduct in the Garhwa district. By Monday evening, he'll be in Palamu.

RJD chairman Lalu Prasad was found guilty of fraudulent withdrawals from Doranda Treasury in connection with the fifth fodder scam by a special CBI court in Ranchi in February.

Instead of Lalu, this man will now take every decision of the party, a big announcement was made in the legislature party meeting.
