Saddened by the demise of Sharad Yadav, Lalu said- 'Disagreements never led to bitterness...'

Patna: RJD President Lalu Prasad condoled the death of former JDU President and former Union Minister Sharad Yadav. Also said that there was never any bitterness because of their mutual differences. Lalu Prasad Yadav has released a video statement from the hospital in Singapore. 

Lalu Prasad Yadav recalled his past association with the late leader, referring to Sharad Yadav as his elder brother. Lalu Yadav said that on many occasions Sharad Yadav and I fought with each other. But our disagreements never led to bitterness. RJD supremo Lalu said that Sharad Yadav had formed the Democratic Janata Dal after being forced to break away from JD(U) after a tussle with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. Subsequently, he was given an RJD ticket in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and his daughter Subhashini Yadav was fielded by the party in the assembly elections a year later. After this, in 2022, Sharad Yadav merged his party with RJD.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar expressed grief over the demise of Sharad Yadav. He said that the demise of former Union Minister Sharad Yadav is sad. I had a very deep relationship with Sharad Yadav ji. I am shocked and saddened by the news of his demise. He was a strong socialist leader. His death has caused an irreparable loss in the social and political fields. May his soul rest in peace. Sharad Yadav's son-in-law Rajkamal Rao said that he had suffered a cardiac arrest. We took him to the hospital. After reaching there, the doctors declared him dead. He had a kidney problem and was on dialysis. His body will be taken to his native village in Madhya Pradesh where the last rites will be performed.
