Ranchi: Lalu Prasad Yadav may be facing a imprison term but that does not mean that he has mislaid his common sense.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Supreme, who has been convicted in the Bihar fodder scam, was today present at a special court in Ranchi which was to decide on the quantum of sentence in the case when he decided to crack a quip that even made the judge retort with a humorous one-liner.

The ex- Bihar chief minister told the judge, "It was very cold in jail".

Without omitted a punch, CBI Special Court Judge Shiv Pal Singh, who was hearing the case, answered back, “Then, play tabla".

The court postponed the sentencing of Lalu Prasad Yadav in the case till Friday when it would make a decision whether the judgment would be pronounced over video conference or in court, As per PTI reports.

For the duration of the course of proceedings in the crowded courtroom, the judge told Prasad that he had read the latter's record and had alertness remained tight, such a thing (fodder scam) would not have taken place.

The judge further made a comment that the RJD chief did not act without delay on which Lalu Prasad, who holds a law degree as well from Patna University, in his typical style replied, "I am also an advocate."
