Rashtriya Janata Dal president and fodder scam convict Lalu Prasad Yadav surrendered before a CBI court in Ranchi on Thursday. Double trouble for Lalu Prasad's family as his wife Rabri Devi and son Tejashwi will have to present before court in Railway tender case tomorrow.

Doctors of Asian Heart Institute (Mumbai) will do a check up of Lalu Prasad Yadav and then inform Court about his condition after Yadav surrendered before Court earlier today, said Prabhat Kumar who is Yadav's Lawyer.

The Jharkhand high court had earlier on August 24 discarded Lalu's bail extension-plea and asked the RJD superemo to surrender by August 30.

 

In his bail extension-plea the former Bihar chief minister had  urged a three-month extension of his bail on medical grounds.

Worth mention here Lalu has been convicted in the fodder scam and was jailed following a court verdict but due to poor health, he was permitted to take treatment at the Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai.

On August 17, the Jharkhand high court had extended Lalu's provisional bail till August 27.Lalu has been found guilty in four cases of the multi-crore rupees fodder scam.

The cases are about to unlawful extraction of money from government treasuries in different districts for the animal husbandry department in undivided Bihar in the 1990s when the Rashtriya Janata Dal was in power in the state.

Know about the cases in which Lalu found guilty -

1. On September 30, 2013, he was offender in the first fodder scam case linked to the Chaibasa Treasury.

2.The former Bihar chief minister was again found guilty in another case related to the Chaibasa Treasury on January 24, 2018.

3.On February 23 and March 19, he was offender in cases related to the Deoghar Treasury and the Dumka Treasury respectively.
