Afghanistan have appointed former South Africa all-rounder Lance Klusener as the team's new head coach. Lance Klusner will replace former team coach Phil Simmons. Phil Simmons' tenure ended after the World Cup played in England. Klusner said that it is a matter of pride for me to work with the talented team of world cricket. I am excited about my work. The newly appointed coach of the team said that everyone knows what kind of fearless cricket Afghanistan plays.

I am confident that with hard work we can become one of the best teams in the world. Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lutfullah Stanikzai said that Clujnar is a well-known name. Our players will benefit from their experience. Clujner has previously worked as a batting coach with the national team of Zimbabwe and South Africa. Clujner played a total of 417 international cricket matches between 1996 and 2004 in his home country. After the end of his cricket career, he ventured into the world of coaching. Let us tell you that Afghanistan recently performed well in the series played with Bangladesh.
