Deoghar: On the first Monday of Sawan, a mass rally of devotees has gathered at Deoghar in Jharkhand today. In Sawan, Shiva devotees reach Devghar in large numbers and offer water to the deity Mahadev. Monday is especially important in Tax Sawan. This time also, more Kanwaris are reaching Deoghar in Sawan every year.

From late night all devotees are waiting for their turn by queueing up. Usually, a 10-15 km long line is seen at the time of Monday to offer water to Baba. Police forces have been deployed in view of the mob. In view of the first Monday rush, the duty of all police personnel has been increased. The administration has also put in place strict security arrangements for the first Monday. For the safety of the devotees, surveillance is being done through drone cameras, CCTV cameras, helium balloons. Besides, ref, NDRF, SSB, ATS, bomb disposal squad, dog squad have also been deployed to protect the devotees. However, water and power has also been arranged for the Kanwaris.
