New Delhi: The 2024 Espace SUV from French automaker Renault was unveiled last week. It will start taking reservations this spring. The car's features include an elegant exterior, a roomy interior packed with cutting-edge technology, and a hybrid powertrain.

It enables the car to travel at a top speed of 175 km/h. Should the company therefore import the four-wheeler into India? Let's investigate.

The Renault Espace from 2024 has a long hood, svelte headlights with C-shaped DRLs, a grille with a chrome strip, and a large air dam. Roof rails, ORVMs, black pillars, angular body lines, and 19- or 20-inch multi-spoke wheels surround it. The back features a black bumper, a shark-fin antenna, a window wiper, a full-width taillamp with C-shaped ends, and more.

A 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine is mated to two electric motors in the new Renault Espace. The system produces a total of 199 horsepower and 205 Nm. The vehicle's powertrain enables it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 175 km/h.

The seven-seater Renault Espace from 2024 features three rows of roomy seats, a huge glass roof, two Type-C ports, a wireless charging pad, a powered tailgate, and a multifunctional steering wheel.

It has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment panel, and an optional 9.3-inch head-up display. There are numerous airbags to protect the passengers.

Only after a formal announcement will the price and availability of the 2024 Renault Espace in India be made public. However, it might cost around Rs. 35 lakh if it comes to this country (ex-showroom).

Comparatively speaking, the 2024 Renault Espace is lighter and roomier than its predecessor. It provides the ideal fusion of good looks, first-rate ride quality, and strong performance.

Renault would do well to bring it to India because there is a steadily growing market for long-wheelbase SUVs. It will compete with models when it debuts, including those from Mahindra, MG Motor, and Tata Motors.
