A modern premium SUV is Nissan Kicks and is contested by Hyundai Creta, but customers buying Creta didn't get much of the kicks and Nissan's own Terrano saw a downward decline in June in terms of sales. According to last month's interesting sales data, Nissan Terrano excluded the Kicks SUV in the June 2019 monthly sales figures. The figures are also surprising as Nissan has already discontinued production of the Terrano compact SUV from its product lineup and is offering a huge discount to customers.

The recently launched premium SUV is priced at Rs 9.55 lakh. However, Nissan Kicks has only 128 units dispatched last month, while Terrano has sold 132 units in the same period. Due to the low sales on Kicks, Nissan offers cash discounts of over Rs 70,000 on Kicks, 3-year warranty, service pack and roadside assistance. Nissan has no official number of discounts for Terrano as it is out of production. A huge discount can be given on this car at the dealer level to clear the stocks.

As per the information received, Nissan Kicks in India is larger than the Latin American version and shares the Terrano platform. However, it's placed a top Terrano in the lineup. Kicks are offered with two engine options. It is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. which generates 108bhp and 245Nm of torque. Apart from this, it is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol motor producing 106bhp and 142Nm of torque. Both petrol and diesel engines are mated to manual gearboxes. The option of Automatic is not included here. However, Terrano's 1.5-litre diesel is given the AMT unit. Nissan can turn off its Kicks' diesel engine and share the Renault Duster engine. The company has already announced that it may shut down diesel engines. Many companies have switched off their diesel variants.
