Recently, Brazilian-made Toyota Etios has achieved a 4-star rating in adult and child-action protection in crash tests conducted by the Latin New Car Assessment Program (Latin NCAP). In his statement, Latin NCAP President Ricardo Morales said customers had requested that most Toyota Etios be tested by NCAP. Appreciating the carmaker's support towards the Latin NCAP program, Morales said, "We encourage other manufacturers to take a similar attitude to introduce Latin American and Caribbean consumers with independent safety information when buying new cars. The Toyota Etios tested by NCAP is equipped with double front airbags as standard with Electronic Stability Control (ESC). The NCAP report said that despite the fact that the structure and the model's footwell area was considered unstable, the car showed good conservation levels in the adult in the front and side impact tests. Apart from this, facilities like Seat Belt Reminder (SBR) for both front seats and ESC have provided 4 stars for adult-occupancy protection.
