The introduction of India's first domestically-built semi-high-speed train has ushered in a new era of rail travel within the country. This cutting-edge train has proven to be a boon for various segments of passengers, including students, business professionals, and senior citizens. In the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2023-24, the Ministry of Railways unveiled plans to introduce two additional variants of the iconic blue and white train. These new versions will be known as the "Vande Bharat Sleeper" and the "Vande Metro."

Vande Metro Sleeper vs. Vande Metro
The Vande Metro Sleeper versions will be designed to connect longer distances, such as routes between New Delhi and Howrah, New Delhi and Mumbai, and Patna and New Delhi, among others. On the other hand, the Vande Metro will serve as a compact version of the semi-high-speed train, primarily focusing on shorter intercity journeys.
