On Friday, Proteas all-rounder and experience T20I cricketer, J P Duminy is all set to replace Caribbean all-rounder powerhouse Pollard for Sunday’s game against the Rajasthan Royals. West Indies heavyweight Pollard has been a pale shadow of his glorified past, scoring only 33 runs in the four matches with a highest score of 28 which show his poor form. All-rounder, Pollard has not bowled a single delivery in four matches which proves that Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has very little trust in Pollard’s bowling abilities in this season.

It is only fair that Mumbai look for other options and that none other than great Proteas all=rounder Duminy, who fits the bill perfectly for MI. The franchise through its official twitter handle gave all indications that the attacking left-hander will get to play his first match of the season. Captain Rohit Sharma finally struck form with a brilliant 94-run innings that enabled Mumbai Indians to a huge score of 213 for 6 wickets.

All-rounder batsmen Duminy last represented for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2010 and will provide the much-needed stability in their middle order when he gets his opportunity against Royals on Sunday. JP’s bowling abilities to ball off-spin will also give a cushion to Krunal Pandya.

“In all T20 JP has bowled, JP bowls an average of 2.2 overs per game in his career. This could also help Rohit Sharma from breaking the monotony. He has a class leg-spinner and a useful left-arm spinner in place so the South African will lend a good balance not only with the bat but also with the ball,” added former Indian veteran cricketer Srikkanth.
