We all know about Holi. The festival of colors is the most enjoyable festival in India. But Holi is not celebrated on a specific day. Its plays before and after the day of Holi. different days in different areas as it's played in Madhya Pradesh 5 days after the Holi on Rangpanchami. In Rajasthan, it's plays on 11 days after the Holi as Rang gyaras. everywhere in India celebrates and play with different pattern and colors. according to their rituals. But in all these places colors played after the day of Holi or on the day of Holi. where Barsana and Nandgao the historical town of Vrindavan. in the state of UP, India starts their Holi a week earlier and play till Rangpanchami. Where not only plays with color but also plays in unique style with colors flowers and lath (thin stick of wood ) and dhaal (shield) it’s also called braj ki Holi.

Lath maar Holi in which women beats the boys with a lath to drive them away. And boys protect themselves from the shields. the rituals start earlier. when lord Krishna goes to Barsana from Nandgoa to play colors(holi) with his beloved  Radharani. Lord Krishna wants to color Radharani and her friends but when lord Krishna enters barasana  with his friends. they are playfully greeted with laths. And from protecting themselves from lath they use shields.

until now for recreating the scene of lath maar holi and celebrating the love of Radhakrishna. Males of Nandgoa play holi with the females of Barsana. there’s also celebrate laddu maar holi which plays in shreeji mandir and laadli lal ji mandir of Mathura were laddu is thrown on devotees after offering laadu to the godsof the temple .its celebrate a day before of start latt maar holi. laadu maar holi has a history of sending invite to lord krishna and nandbaba of playing Holi. When Lord Krishna goes to barsana. and goopies coloring him and as if he don’t have color at the moment so he started throwing laadus on goopies that he had offered as a guest. that’s how laadumaar holi started.

Lathmaaar Holi is a great attraction for tourists in Vrindavan Mathura becomes a hub of tourists because of the temples of Krishna and because of the history of the town. there are no seasonal ups and downs in Mathura tourism. but at the time of Holi, it become more popular. and no other district could attract tourists as much as Mathura did.
