Latur: A complaint has been lodged by a farmer from Maharashtra for filing a fraud case against the Meteorological Department at the police station. The farmer's name is said to be Sattar Patel. Sattar is a resident of Bhisevagholi village in Latur district. Sattar reached the Murud police station in Latur with some farmer friends and complained that the Met had miscalculated. He suffered losses.

A case under Section 420 has been registered by the police on the complaint of a farmer from Maharashtra. "The forecast of 97 per cent rainfall this year was announced by the Meteorological Department. Latur farmers sowed seeds in the first sporadic rain. Now everything has dried up there. It's not raining.

The farmer further said that the Meteorological Department is responsible for all this and he has said that if the Met Department does not predict, the farmer does not sow the seeds. He further said the farmer is already upset and has been cheated in this way due to the wrong information of the Met Department. So now it should file a case of 420 against the Meteorological Department. This is our demand.
