Law commission asks government to legalise gambling

In one of its report presented before the government, the Law Commission suggested the government to make certain amendments to its laws and declare activities like gambling and betting as legal. On the other hand, a member of the Law Commission, Sivakumar addressed the activities as against the moral values of the country.

Something that should be considered before taking any decision is the fact that many people in the country can misuse the freedom granted to them. On the other hand, the government should also not ban activities in the country just for the sake of strictness.

A lot of countries across the world have declared prostitution as a legal affair, applying certain conditions to it. Similarly, some countries in the USA have legalised smoking Marijuana for recreational purpose.

Well, unless these rights granted by the government of the countries are not misused by some to exploit the rights of others, the world remains a safe place to survive. Well, the constitution needs to be strict enough to keep a hold on the various activities going on in the country and should maintain the thin line between recreation and crime.

As per the growing cases of crime in India, our government should try to focus on the better execution of the laws already made.
