The controversy has started since the release of the film's trailer. It shows a serial rapist and a murderer who brings young girls to his target in the city, it has been said that it is inspired by the true incident. Rani Mukherjee is reprising her role of police officer Shivani Roy in the film, who decides to catch the criminal in two days. Garg told IANS that Kota has been identified as an educational city for three decades and it is not appropriate to link this city with crime.
He said, "Nearly 2.5 lakh students from every province of India have been coming here to excel in competitive examinations. Who would want to send their child here for studies after such a film is shown across the country?"
