Pune: Renowned Ayurvedacharya Balaji Tambe passes away following a brief illness at a private hospital here on Tuesday.. He was 81 years old. Balaji Tambe's health had deteriorated. He was admitted to a private hospital in Pune for treatment. 

 Balaji Tambe was an expert in Ayurveda, Yoga and music therapy. He was the founder of Atmasantulan Village at Karla in Pune district. Ayurvedacharya Tambe did research on Ayurvedic medicine and Ayurvedic physiotherapy. His book 'Ayurvedic Garbha Sanskar' was very popular. Tambe is survived by his wife Veena, sons Sunil and Sanjay and grandchildren.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and other dignitaries mourned the demise of the Ayurvedacharya healer and researcher. A globally-renowned acclaimed master in Ayurveda, Yoga and Music Therapy, Tambe was the founder of the Atmasantulana Village at Karla, near Lonavala designed on a Vedic lifestyle, in 1982.Sanjay Dutt got emotional on daughter Trishala’s birthday, wrote emotional note
