NEW DELHI: the Union Home Minister, wished all citizens a happy Buddha Purnima on Monday, saying Lord Buddha's "teachings and philosophy of life will continue to inspire us for eternity." "Happy Buddha Purnima to all the citizens of the land. The teaching of truth, nonviolence, and peace preached by Lord Buddha is a priceless gift to the entire human species. His life philosophy and lessons will never cease to inspire us..., "Shah used Twitter.

Lord Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and Nirvana are commemorated on Buddha Purnima, which honours his message of humanity, nonviolence, peace, and service to the world. According to Vedic mythology, Gautam Buddha is the ninth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and Buddha Purnima is an auspicious day to commemorate his birth. On 'Purnima,' or full moon night, Buddha Purnima occurs.

Buddha was a philosopher who discovered the solution to ending 'suffering' after 49 days of unbroken meditation under the Bodhi (banyan) tree in Bodhgaya. He claimed that the solution may be found in "four noble truths." The dates of Buddha's birth and death remain uncertain. He was born between 563 and 483 B.C., according to most historians. Most people believe Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal, and died at the age of 80 in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh.
