New Delhi: The problems of the Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi seem to be increasing. After the liquor scam, water scam, and education scam, now the Kejriwal government has been accused of irregularities in power subsidy. A complaint letter in this regard has been received by the Capital's Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena. After which LG has ordered an inquiry in this regard and has sought a report within 7 days.

The LG has directed the Chief Secretary to investigate the 'irregularities and anomalies' in the power subsidy received from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government to BSES discoms. According to the LG Secretariat, the complaint is against Delhi Dialogue Commission chief Jasmin Shah and Naveen Gupta, son of AAP's Rajya Sabha member ND Gupta. The LG has asked the Chief Secretary to submit the investigation report in 7 days. The LG has also asked why the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) on 19 February 2018 ordered the government to pay electricity subsidy through DBT. Then why has it not been implemented yet?

The order had said that GNCTD may consider transferring power subsidies to beneficiaries. The same is already being done by the Delhi government in the case of the distribution of LPG subsidies.
