Chandigarh: Acase that has brought shame to Pt. Jab's relationship with Amritsar has come to light where a wife killed her husband to grab insurance policy money. The woman, who was arrested by the police, has said that her husband had been ill for a long time, due to which there was a problem in running the house. It was also difficult to bear the expenses of the children's education.  

DSP Sukhwinderpal Singh said that on the morning of May 5, Manjeet Singh had left for Beas Hospital with his wife Narinder Kaur to get medicines. His bloodied body was then found lying on the road of Dehriwal. His wife was also injured. The body was taken into custody and sent for post mortem. The injured wife was admitted to a government hospital for treatment. After that, the case was investigated. During the investigation, the police came to know that Manjeet Singh had been suffering from several ailments for the past 20 years. His treatment was going on at a hospital in Beas. Due to which the expenses of the children's education and the maintenance of the house were very difficult. Because of this, there was often a quarrel between husband and wife.  

The deceased's wife was a LIC agent. She had insured her husband for Rs 15 lakh. The nominee was himself. In such a situation, she got the idea that if the husband is killed, then he will get the insurance money. After that, she started planning to kill her husband. One day she went to the hospital for medicine to her husband, then executed her plot on the way. DCP Sukhwinder Pal Singh said that the woman has been arrested on the charge of killing her husband. The matter is under further investigation. The murder incident was described as an act of robbery to mislead the police.
