From that day until the ban in match-fixing, he was the captain of South Africa. Cronje led South Africa in 68 Tests and 188 ODIs. South African Cricket Board MD Ali Bakar was also confident of Cronje's honesty. After this, the King Commission investigated this issue and banned the crony for life.
