Thiruvananthapuram:  Tuesday's Kerala Assembly session was adjourned due to opposition legislators' protests and shouting of anti-LIFE Mission chants within the chamber.

After opposition Legislator Mathew Kuzhalnadan moved for an adjournment and demanded that the assembly discuss the life mission scam, the chamber was adjourned.

M B Rajesh, the minister of local self-government in Kerala, said, "The notification contains nothing brand-new. The wine, the bottle, and the label are all vintage." The house was adjourned by speaker A. N. Shamseer.

Earlier on Monday, CM Raveendran, Pinarayi Vijayan's Additional private secretary, failed to show up for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate regarding the LIFE Mission Scam case.

On February 23, Raveendran received notification from the Enforcement Directorate regarding the LIFE Mission Scam. He reportedly told the ED that the legislative assembly session in Thiruvananthapuram prevented him from appearing today. He must appear before ED representatives at its Kochi office on February 27 at 10 am, per the earlier-issued notice.

In the LIFE Mission Scam case, a court using the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) on Friday placed M Sivasankar, the former principal secretary to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, under judicial custody until March 8.

In the LIFE Mission Scam Case, M Sivasankar, a former principal secretary to the Kerala CMO, was arrested on February 16, and the remand report that the ED filed in the PMLA Court against him showed several WhatsApp conversations between him and another suspect, Swapna Suresh.

The remand report alleged that there is a wider nexus involving government representatives in the allocation of contracts and the generation of proceeds of crime through the upfront commission as a bribe.
