Islamabad: Late in the night in Pak, lightning suddenly fell. As a result, many major cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Islamabad, Multan, and Rawalpindi, were completely plunged into darkness. According to media reports, there has been a sudden blackout almost all over the country. In a tweet, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqat said that the tripping of the National Transmission and Dispatch Company System (NTDC) has led to blackouts. Everything can be fine in a while. People are engaged to correct tripping.

The Express Tribune also said that the NTDC teams are working to find out the reasons for the sudden drop in the frequency of the national distribution system, the Express Tribune quoted a Power Division spokesman as saying. According to information received, Pak's Energy Ministry informed Twitter that the frequency of the power transmission system has been blacked out countrywide with a sudden fall of 50 to 0. According to the ministry, the technical problem occurred close to 11.41 pm. The ministry has asked people to exercise restraint. At the moment, power restoration is now going to be started in a systematic manner.

In view of the news of blackouts in Pak, #blackout is trending on social media. It is understood that even before Pak technical snag had to remain without electricity for several hours. Even then there was a lot of discussion on social media.
