Yesterday; LinkedIn had launched three new product keeping their Indian users in mind, with the inspiration of the government scheme called –‘Make in India, For India’
The products namely- ‘LinkedIn Lite’ which is basically a stepped down mobile site or like any other social networking app, ‘LinkedIn Placements’, this product aims at the college placement market, and the last product ‘LinkedIn Starter pack’ aimed at starter apps and small businesses.
Also, he wants such schemes like ‘Make in India’ to be forwarded to other markets of the world for the betterment of the IT sector. The company’s CEO said “There’s lot of learning from what we are going to do here that we think can be extended elsewhere beyond India”.In the exclusive interview to The Economic Times Jeff Weiner(CEO) added to the above statement “That certainly holds true for LinkedIn Lite, that we are rolling out in India for the first time. Thats going to make sense in other markets where you see similar restrictions- like in storage and bandwith”.
All of the above mentioned three products by the company were made by its strong 250 person R&D team in Bengaluru.
Around 37 million Indian are members of the LinkedIn Community, second in the position, just after the US, which has about 130 million users
