Patna: The availability of liquor in Bihar has become a headache for the government even after prohibition. Even after all the restrictions, deaths due to poisonous liquor or a drunken crime is not new in Bihar. But now a step has been taken to ban it. Therefore, on the orders of CM Nitish Kumar, a meeting of the Indo-Nepal Border Joint Coordination Committee was held to strictly curb the smuggling of liquor and other drugs.

The meeting was attended by Sitamarhi DM Sunil Kumar Yadav and other officials, while chief officials from the Nepal side also attended the meeting. The district collector said to shift the liquor shop at least two to three km from the border to the Nepal region. The DM urged in the meeting to barcoding on liquor sold in Nepal. So that the concerned shopkeeper can be prosecuted by the Nepal administration.

In this meeting, there was also a discussion on curbing the smuggling of arms, human smuggling, smuggling of currency of both the countries and other drug smuggling. The meeting also discussed the non-entry of citizens of any other country into India through illegal means.
