Supreme Court refuses pleas of early hearing on live streaming in Ayodhya case

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has refused to hear an early hearing of the plea of Union thinker Govindacharya, urging live streaming of the Ayodhya case hearing. A five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi will hear the Ayodhya case continuously from Tuesday. Senior advocate Vikas Singh, on behalf of Govindacharya, sought an early hearing on Monday before a bench headed by Judge S.A.

He said the hearing should be live-streaming. The bench said, "We do not know whether we have the means to live streaming. The bench, however, refused to hear it soon and said it requires an institutional decision. It cannot be decided at the judicial level. On this, Vikas Singh said that recordings should be arranged till a decision is taken on the same. The bench, however, said that such an order can be taken at the administrative level.

In his petition, Govindacharya said, the Ayodhya case is a matter of faith of crores of people who are looking forward to getting justice in the case at the earliest. It is a matter of national importance. The hearing should be live-streaming. A five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi will hear the Ayodhya case continuously from Tuesday if the arbitration process is inconclusive.
