Chandigarh: If you are an adult, you are already married... Even then, you can live in a live-in relationship with someone else. And if you do, you are not committing a crime. It is not the outline of society to be in live-in relations even after getting married, but the Punjab and Haryana high court's decision.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has given a major verdict on extramarital affairs. Love birds from Punjab had approached the High Court for their safety. The verdict has been pronounced in the same case. The court also ordered protection for the love birds who filed the petition. The legal problem in the whole matter was that the couple was living in a live-in relationship even after getting married. And the second problem was a judgment of the Allahabad High Court given last month.

In fact, the Allahabad High Court had said in one such case that love birds living in live-in relations cannot be protected in which no one is already married. The Allahabad High Court had put the social fabric of the country in the argument. The Rajasthan High Court had also given a verdict last month. The basis of the verdict was the same – "The social fabric of the country with the Allahabad High Court." In its judgment, the Rajasthan High Court had refused to provide protection to a woman living in live-in relations even after getting married.
