UK: According to survey data collected by YouGov, both Truss and Mordaunt are predicted to claim victory over Sunak, despite the fact that Truss has a slight advantage over Mordaunt.

Tory MP Kemi Badenoch is no longer in the running to lead the UK Conservative Party, and it now appears that Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will take on former Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak in a second round of voting to become the next prime minister.

A recent YouGov poll indicates that trade minister Penny Mordaunt has lost the "commanding lead" she once had among members of her party, placing her at 42 percent, compared to 48 percent of the truce.

The development comes as daily Mail reports that the ex British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been accused of directly interfering in succession planning.

Media outlets report that Johnson effectively ensured that Tobias Ellwood, chairman of the Defense Committee and Mordaunt's supporter, could not vote by removing the Conservative whip in the fourth round of the party leadership contest.

According to the media outlet, the action fueled rumors that BoJo may be attempting to help his "favourite successor," Truss after a string of resignations from his cabinet. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his resignation on 7 July.
