Patna: There has been a big reversal in Bihar's politics once again. Sharad Yadav, who broke away from Nitish Kumar in 2018 and formed a separate party, has now ended his 25-year-old political rivalry that started with Lalu Yadav. At a function held at his residence in Delhi, he merged his party LJD with the RJD.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharad Yadav said, "The merger of our party with the RJD is the first step towards opposition unity. It is essential that the entire opposition across India unites to defeat the Bhartiya Janata Party. Right now integration is our priority, only then will we think about who will lead a united opposition.''

Sharad Yadav had already announced the merger with the RJD. He made it clear by tweeting on Wednesday. Sharad Yadav had said, "This will be part of their efforts to bring together different organisations of the erstwhile Janata Dal. Establishing a strong opposition in the country is the need of the hour. So, I have been working in this direction for a long time to unite the former Janata Dal as well as other like-minded parties. So, I have decided to merge my party LJD with the RJD."
