New Delhi: Public sector Punjab National Bank (PNB) has once again been hit by the loan scam. PNB Dewan Housing Finance Ltd. 3,688.58 crore loan given to (DHFL) has been declared fraud. Before this, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi have fraudulently committed more than 14 thousand crores rupees with the bank.

While giving information on Thursday, the bank said that it  the fraud in the non-performing asset account of DHFL was reported to the RBI . DHFL came into the limelight when a report said that it allegedly defrauded Rs 31,000 crore out of a total of Rs 97,000 crore of bank loans through several mask companies.

According to the news agency PTI, PNB has said in the information given to the stock market, 'Report of rigging of Rs 3,688.58 crore has been submitted to the DHFL account to RBI.' He said that the bank has already made provision of Rs 1,246.58 crore for this, as per the laid down norms. DHFL is the first financial services company to approach NCLT on debt resolution. Last year, several agencies, including the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), started investigations after reports of alleged violations of rules in the company.
