Indore: You all know that water comes from the canals in the ponds, but it is constantly being exploited. If this goes on, the pond will be completely destroyed. What plan does the government have to save the ponds. After all, what is the government doing in this matter? This is a big question that comes up again and again. The High Court has asked this question in a PIL filed by the government regarding the ponds. The government has to answer in four weeks. The matter will now be heard in the third week of May.

Padma Shri Bhalu Monde has filed this PIL in the High Court regarding the plight of the city's ponds. On Tuesday, its hearing was held in the bench of Justice SC Sharma and Justice Shailendra Shukla. Monde himself is appearing in the petition. It has been told in the petition that only the canals coming from the Ralamandal region accumulate water in the Bilawali pond, but these canals have been closed only. Now a similar situation is being created with regard to Sirpur pond.

The colony is being developed by closing the canals. Complaints have been made to the municipal corporation and district administration in this regard, but no action has been taken till date. Monde said that after hearing the initial arguments on Tuesday, the court has sought answers from the municipal corporation. The hearing in the petition will be held on 15 May. This is a big question that if there are no ponds and canals left in urbanization, how will there be a living?
