In February last month, the grasshopper team which brought Pakistan to emergency like situation, after Rajasthan, Punjab and Gujarat, now in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Chhattisgarh have also increased the problems of farmers as well as common people. They are not only harming the crops, but have also become the cause of people's problems in the residential areas. Along with Uttar Pradesh, the governments of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Chhattisgarh have become active to deal with them. Pesticide spraying is being done along with making monitoring committees.

Monitoring committees have been formed under the chairmanship of CMO in Uttar Pradesh. Orders have been issued to take the help of Revenue Department along with Horticulture and Forest Department besides making Agriculture Department as Nodal Department. On the other hand, a team of locusts started wreaking havoc by reaching Panothha village of Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. With their arrival at six o'clock in the evening, the team arrived from Lalitpur and Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh, through voice and insecticide, stopped the grasshopper team there.

The authorities have breathed a sigh of relief when the locusts of about 10 lakh number of locusts in the country were divided in two. UP's Director of Agriculture, Dr. CP Srivastava, said that there are five to 10 lakh locusts in the team of Pakistani locusts, which destroy crores of crops in one night. A water tanker tractor has been demanded from Lucknow. Before coming from Lucknow, complete preparations have been made to stop them by forming squads in Kanpur countryside, Unnao and Rae Bareli. Mangoes are still being planted in the gardens and in the fields there are pumpkin, cucumber, melon, watermelon, gourd, bitter gourd and betel crops, which the locust parties can harm. Agriculture Defense Officer Dhananjay Singh said that they attack green leaves and fruits. In the garden or field where locusts will sit, the greenery will be completely destroyed. They move with the wind. The female is unable to lay eggs in the rain and is slowly destroyed.
