Locust herds have attacked farmers' crops in Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. This time, they have arrived a little sooner than every year, usually, they enter here in the months of June and July.

In his statement, a spokesman for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change said that the cotton crops and vegetables have suffered major damage from locust groups coming from Pakistan. The states most affected by this are Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh, out of which Rajasthan is witnessing the most cases.

On the other hand, according to the data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, 6088 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours and 148 people have died. After this, the number of corona infects across the country has increased to 1,18,447. Out of which 66, 330 are active cases, 48,534 people have been cured or they have been discharged from hospital and 3,583 people have died. Today 105 new cases have been registered in Karnataka, 54 in Rajasthan, 86 in Odisha and 62 in Andhra Pradesh.
