NEW DELHI:  Amidst the tumultuous uproar of opposition protests surrounding the complex situation in Manipur, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon on Friday. The demand for an immediate discussion on the Manipur crisis, at the expense of other parliamentary matters, reverberated passionately through the House as opposition MPs took to their feet, chanting slogans and urging for attention.

In response to the fervent atmosphere, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla initiated the Question Hour, imploring members to take their seats and appealing for a more conducive approach to resolving issues. "Can we truly find solutions through mere sloganeering? Discussions and dialogues pave the path to solutions. This course of action is not the right way," he asserted.

Addressing the matter, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recognized the significance of deliberating on the situation in Manipur, acknowledging the earnestness exhibited by the opposition to engage in the discussion. However, the clamor persisted, leading the Speaker to adjourn the proceedings until noon, hoping for a more composed environment to deliberate.

The opposition MPs were resolute in their demand for a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi concerning the state of affairs in Manipur, followed by an extensive day-long discussion. They had already submitted adjournment motion notices, signaling their determination to address the pressing concerns during the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament, which commenced on Thursday.
