Mamata appeals all opposition parties to hold election from ballot paper

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee questioned the EVM machine used in the Lok Sabha elections on Monday. Mamata appealed all opposition parties to use the ballot paper to hold elections. He said that a fact-finding committee should be formed, which raised information about the EVMS so that we could find out why such results came in this election.

The BJP alone won 303 seats in the Lok Sabha polls. Even in Bengal, Saffron party won 18 seats while Trinamool won 22 seats, Congress got 2 seats here. Mamata had a meeting with Trinamool MLAs and ministers. He then said: "We have to save democracy. We don't want machines. We seek to bring back the ballot paper regime in the elections. We will start a campaign and it will start with Bengal.

With this, Mamata said: "I have asked 23 opposition parties to join together to demand the return of the ballot paper. A country like the United States has stopped using it. The BJP used power, institutions, media and governments to win the elections.
