New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday assessed a class of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi for not following due parliamentary procedure during the debate on the motion of thanks on the President's address in the Lower House. In fact, Rahul Gandhi had said during his address that I allow the MP to speak. In his statement, the Lok Sabha Speaker said, "Who are you to allow this? You can't allow it, that's my right.''

Om Birla said that 'You do not have the right to allow anyone. Only the chair has the right to give anyone any permission.' In fact, on Wednesday, when Rahul Gandhi was attacking the Modi government in the Lok Sabha, he also named BJP MP Kamlesh Paswan. At the same time, Paswan opposed it and started speaking from his seat. Seeing this, Rahul said, "I am a democratic person and I will allow the other person to speak.'' He lashed out at Speaker Birla, annoying over his statement.

Actually, Rahul Gandhi said that Paswan is in the wrong party, on which Paswan also retaliated. Rahul Gandhi said that 'I am in the wrong party. But I want to tell him that after being the MP of Bansgaon, today I am able to speak right after him (Rahul) only because of my party. My party made me MP thrice. what else can I do.'
