Sumitra Mahajan writes to Railway Minister on massage in trains

Indore: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) raised question on  innovative plan to earn additional revenue by providing massage to passengers on 39 trains. The Lok Sabha Speaker has sent a letter to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday in this regard.

An employee of the local office of Sumitra Mahajan confirmed the letter on Saturday. In the letter, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan wanted to know from Piyush Goyal whether the proposed massage scheme of Ratlam Railway Division of Western Railway has been approved by the Railway Ministry.  In his letter to Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Mahajan asked, "What kind of arrangement will be made on a running train for this kind of a massage facility as it may raise some questions about the safety and security of passengers, especially women."

The Lok Sabha Speaker in his letter also asked Railway Minister Piyush Goyal whether there is any proposal to open massage parlors on the platform of Indore railway station. Earlier, Shankar Lalwani had also reacted saying that the Railways need to focus on improving the medical facilities available in trains instead.
