Last year, the long distance runner Kiranjeet Kaur, who won Tata Steel Kolkata 25 among Indians, was banned for four years by the World Athletics Doping Prevention Agency (WADA) for consumption of a banned substance in a test conducted in Doha.

The World Doping Prevention Agency has suspended the National Dope Investigation Laboratory. For this reason Kaur's samples were sent to the authorized lab of WADA in Doha. The top prize of Tata Steel Kolkata 25K can also be snatched from 32 year old Kiranjeet Kaur. The period of her ban has started from 15 December, the day her samples were taken. She was temporarily suspended by the World Athletics on 26 February. Athletics ethics unit said, 'During this time the results of all its events will be considered canceled. Her title, award, medal, prize money will be taken back.'

These player earns crores but live very simple life

Kaur won the 10,000 meters bronze medal at the Federation Cup National Championships in Patiala in March last year. She also won the silver medal of 5000 meters at the National Inter-Province Championships in Guwahati in 2018. Kaur had said that she had got typhoid and had taken the medicine given by a doctor in the village. She did not know what was in it.
