Notice issued to Twitter again, now Grievance officer called to police station

Lucknow: The Loni border police station in Ghaziabad district has now summoned Dharmendra Chatur, the then grievance officer of Twitter, to the police station for questioning. He will have to appear before the police station to give his reply in 7 days. Three Congress leaders have also been issued notices to come to the police station. They were served notices earlier also, but the three did not reach the police station.

Loni border police had also sent a notice to Twitter India MD Manish Maheshwari to come to the police station but he approached the Karnataka High Court. The matter is scheduled to come up for hearing today. SP Countryside Dr. Iraj Raja said that after the information given by Twitter, a notice has been sent to the then Grievance Officer Dharmendra Chatur. It was reported that Dharmendra was the grievance officer when the objectionable post on Twitter went viral. Besides Dharmendra Chatur, a notice has been sent by the police to 3 Congress leaders and news website The Wire. All of them will have to reach Loni border police station within a week and record their statements.

SP countryside said Maksur Asmani, Dr Shama Mohammad and Salman Nizami had not responded to the notice earlier. Thereafter, they have now been sent another notice under Section 41 of the CRPC. The controversial post was shared by the three Congress leaders. Earlier, 3 persons including Mohammad Zubair, Saba Naqvi have recorded their statements.
