Dehradun: PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 23 projects worth Rs 17,500 crore in Haldwani. Out of 23 projects, the foundation stone of 17 projects worth more than Rs 14,100 crore was laid. These projects include schemes related to irrigation, roads, housing, health infrastructure, industries, sanitation, drinking water supply. Six projects including several road widening projects, a hydroelectric project in Pithoragarh and projects to improve the sewerage network in Nainital were inaugurated at the function.

Prime Minister Modi said that today development works worth more than Rs 17,000 crore have been inaugurated and foundation stone has been laid. All these projects are going to give better connectivity and better facilities to all the companions of Kumaon. If I got the good fortune of visiting Kumaon today, many old memories have been refreshed. I feel proud to wear this Uttarakhandi cap that you have been wearing so intimately. PM Modi said that for the development of the overall infrastructure of Haldwani city, we are coming with a scheme of about Rs 2,000 crore. Now in Haldwani, there will be unprecedented improvement in water, sewerage, roads, parking, street lights at all places. To make this decade the decade of Uttarakhand, we have emphasized the need to do many such development works at a fast pace. New hydro projects growing in Uttarakhand, increasing industrial capacity in Uttarakhand will make this decade the decade of Uttarakhand.

Along with this, Prime Minister Modi said that how many rivers originate from Uttarakhand. Since independence, the people here have seen two more streams. There is a stream - to keep the mountain out of development. The second stream is to pay one day and night for the development of the mountain. The PM said that today our government is busy taking India to new heights at a fast pace with the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Today the foundation stone of the satellite center of AIIMS Rishikesh in Udham Singh Nagar district and Jagjivan Ram Government Medical College in Pithoragarh has been laid. PM Modi further said that look at my record of 7 years. I am wasting my time searching and searching and fixing such old things. Now I'm doing things right, you fix them. Prime Minister Modi said that the Central Government has also set up India's largest optical telescope at Nainital's Devasthal.
