There are many stories related to Hinduism in India which is surprising. There is a story of Vibhishan and Shri Ganesh in this. Yes, today we are going to tell you about the same. Actually, we are talking about the Uchi Pillayar Temple, which is located in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. Yes, there is a story related to this, according to which the mythological evidence shows that this is the place which is related to a surprising incident related to Lord Ganesha and Ravana's brother Vibhishan. It is said that after Ravadh slaughter, Lord Shri Ram gave Ravana's brother Vibhishan an idol of Ranganath.

Ranganath is a form of Lord Vishnu and it is well known that the thoughts of Ravana and Vibhishan did not match each other. In such a situation, Vibhishan supported Lord Rama in killing Ravana. When Vibhishan was given the statue of Lord Ranganath, all the gods of Devaloka expressed their disappointment with it. At the same time, all of them went to Lord Ganesha and prayed that they stop this from happening. There was also the fact about that statue that it will be installed where it is placed for the first time. After that when Ravana's brother Vibhishan reached Trichy carrying the idol of Lord Ranganath, he felt like bathing in the river Kaveri.

Since he had to take the statue longer, and they could not keep it somewhere else, they started looking for someone. Then Lord Ganesha arrived as a shepherd boy at that place. Vibhishan placed that idol in the hand of the child and told him not to place it on the ground. It is said that as soon as Vibhishan landed in the Kaveri river for bathing, Lord Ganesha placed that statue on the ground. Seeing this, Vibhishan became angry. Seeing Vibhishan coming, Lord Ganesha ran away from there and sat on a hill top. There was no way ahead, so the child had to stop there. At the same time, Vibhishan struck the child with a head and after that Lord Ganesha came in his real form. It is said that Vibhishan apologized to God for his mistake on seeing this and since then Lord Ganesha is sitting on this hill top. At the same time, injury marks can be seen even on the statue of Lord Ganesha.
