New Delhi: At present, there is a debate in the country about 'Love Jihad'. There are talks about making laws on Love Jihad everywhere. The Uttar Pradesh government has enacted a law regarding love jihad. Many BJP-ruled state governments are also trying to make laws. Meanwhile, a big statement has come from the Samajwadi Party (SP) leader ST Hasan. Recently he said in his statement, 'Love Jihad is a political stunt, I will appeal to Muslim youth to consider Hindu girls as sisters'.
He also said, 'In our country, when children are attained for thousands of years, they choose their spouse, Hindu marries a Muslim, Muslim marries a Hindu. Although very rarely, if you see, then you will know that the marriage was done by free will, but when there is a pressure of the society, then we say that we did not know that it is Muslim.' He appealed to the Muslim youths and said, 'You people should treat Hindu girls as your sister, now such a law has been made, by which they can be tortured in a big way. Save yourself and save your life by not falling into any temptation or love. '
In the ordinance passed by the UP government on Love Jihad, it is written that for fraudulent conversion to marriage will be punishable by 10 years. For the conversion, the District Magistrate will have to give information about two months in advance. On the other hand, for conversion, you will get a jail term of 1-5 years with a fine of Rs 15,000. If this happens to minors and women of the SC-ST community, then there is a provision for a jail term of 3-10 years with a fine of Rs 25,000.
