Mumbai: Shiv Sena has targeted the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in its weekly column 'Rokhthok' of its mouthpiece Saamana. Senior Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut has criticized Mamata Banerjee for taking an anti-Congress stand ahead of the Goa Assembly elections, saying her move will benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Shiv Sena has also alleged that TMC and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are spending a lot of money to woo voters in Goa.

Sanjay Raut said that the resolve to root out Congress in Goa will prove fatal for TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee. Raut has written in Saamana that, 'Congress should not survive in Goa, such a role can be of PM Narendra Modi or BJP, but Mamata Banerjee, who is fighting BJP, is supporting the same anti-Congress stand. Who will benefit from this in the end?' Raut said that the Congress had 17 MLAs in the last Goa assembly elections, but now only two are left. Winning the Goa elections is a tough task for the BJP, but outside political parties like AAP and TMC are putting obstacles in the way of the Congress to help them.

Sanjay Raut said that both TMC and AAP parties are eyeing Christian votes in Goa, but this community will stand with Congress in the elections. Some of the Congress rebels who joined the BJP have now returned to the old party, because they have come to know that they will not get a ticket in the BJP, but now the Congress party has decided to distance itself from such traitors. However, the question arises here that why Shiv Sena, which once echoed Mamata didi's anti-Congress statement 'No UPA nahi hai', has suddenly turned against the TMC supremo?
