India's boxer Lovlina Borgohain took home the bronze medal in the Olympics in Tokyo. In the women's 69kg division, Lovlina Borgohain had the opportunity to make history, but she was defeated by Turkish boxer Busanez Surmenelli, the current world champion.

As Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain confirms the second medal in the Tokyo Olympics, it is another moment to be proud of for all Indians. She is an amateur female boxer from India who hails from the Assamese village of Seven Sisters. She previously placed third at the 2018 and 2019 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships. At first India, Open International Boxing Tournament was conducted in New Delhi and the second India Open International Boxing Tournament was held in Guwahati, respectively, Lovlina earned gold and silver medals.

As the first Assamese woman and the second boxer from the state to represent India after Shiva Thapa, Lovlina Borgohain earned her third place in the 69 kg Welterweight division. Boxing Career:

Lovlina took part in The Sports Authority of India's India trials at Barpathar Girls High School when she was still a student. Renowned boxing coach Padum Boro became aware of her talent and began training her so she could participate in higher events and championships. She later received coaching from Chief Women's Coach Shiv Singh for competitions abroad.
