Low pressure area forming in Bay of Bengal, IMD issued rain alert in these states

New Delhi: A low-pressure area is being formed near south Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh coast. On the other hand, a low pressure area is built on the north-west and adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal. At the same time, western disturbances can be seen as cyclonic circulation in Punjab and adjoining areas.

According to the Met Department (IMD), most parts of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Kerala and Bengal are expected to receive heavy rain today (Saturday) i.e. October 16. Wind speed of 40-50 kmph is estimated to prevail over coastal areas of Odisha and Bengal. Fishermen have been instructed not to go near the beach. According to the weather forecast, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall during the next 24 hours due to low pressure area created by the impact of cyclonic winds.

Rainfall is likely to continue till October 20 in Odisha as well as most parts of Kerala. According to IMD, many places have received rain this morning. The country's capital Delhi today (Saturday) recorded a minimum temperature of one degree above the season average of 20 degrees Celsius. Light rain has also been predicted in Delhi on October 16. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that humidity levels were recorded at 82 percent.
