Inflation shock on first day of Sept, price of LPG cylinder rose again

New Delhi: The month of September has been marked by inflation. State-run oil companies have once again hiked the prices of domestic LPG cylinders. Domestic gas prices have been hiked by Rs 25 from today. With this, the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has now increased to Rs 884.50 in the national capital. In just 15 days, non-subsidized LPG cylinders have become costlier by Rs 50.

Earlier, petroleum companies had hiked gas cylinder prices by Rs 25 on August 18. Cylinder prices had also increased in July. The price of a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has increased by Rs 75. When it comes to a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder, it costs Rs 1693 in Delhi. It is priced at Rs 1772 in Kolkata, Rs 1,649 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,831 per cylinder in Chennai.

Now the 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in Delhi has gone up to Rs 884.5. It was fetching Rs 859.50 in Delhi before the price rose. In Kolkata, the 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has now gone up to Rs 911, which was earlier Rs 886. The price has gone up to Rs 884.5 in Mumbai and Rs 900.5 in Chennai from Rs 859.50 and Rs 875 respectively earlier. Earlier on August 18, the price of the LPG cylinder had increased by Rs 25.50.
